3 PEAKS YOGA RETREAT  – A fabulous walking and yoga retreat with the two Sarah Bs in the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Staying in the gorgeous and superb bunk barn, Broadrake, (with underfloor heating!)  at the base of Whernside there will be an opportunity to walk one peak a day led by Sarah Booth and another walk leader. Sarah Blenkhorn will guide you through morning yoga and pranayama practice to get you ready for your peak challenge and then lead you through a soothing practice to ease those tired muscles and wind you down for the evening. (No experience required for yoga – we cater for beginner yogis but a good level of fitness required for the peaks along with decent walking boots and waterproofs etc.) (There are no toilets en route, use the natural outdoors! ).

Wonderful home cooked vegan /veggie food Friday evening through to Sunday lunch (6 meals included). Kit list will be sent out nearer time. Friday and Saturdays walk will be leaving from the bunk barn door and Sunday a small drive to the bottom of Pen-y-gent (Sunday – pack up car and vacate bunk barn before heading off to peak.)

 Investment for 2024 2 nights accommodation in shared dorm (£299) or in twin room/ private room (£330), vegetarian/vegan meals from Fri eve to Sun lunch, 4 yoga sessions and guided hikes. Reserve your spot with £100 deposit (non returnable). Participants who take part in activities do so at their own risk.  Balance to be paid 8 weeks before the retreat. Yoga & Adventure Retreat

The two Sarah Bs from Retreat with Me and Yoga North present an amazing Yoga and Adventure retreat in the Lake District.  Escape to the heart of the Lake District but leave the crowds behind. Rookhow is a secluded haven of tranquillity, with 12 acres of private, ancient and magical woodland nestled between Coniston and Lake Windermere.

Stay in a cosy self-catering shared bunk barn dorms at Rookhow with log fires, snug sitting room, use of the outdoor campfire and seating area and not forgetting the yurt in the woods! There are options to bring your own tent or camper van should you prefer. The adventure is all yours!

Rookhow is the perfect destination for our yoga and adventure retreat -the unique and historic site includes a 300-year-old Quaker Meeting House which is freshly refurbished and where we will hold our yoga sessions. This space can also be used as a break-out area for quiet time and reflection if you desire.

Your retreat will comprise of morning and evening yoga, (no experience required, we cater for beginners), Old Man of Conniston hike ( or alternative if the weather is bad, no toilets en route, use the natural outdoors! ), Stand up Paddle Board, wild swimming and sound bath! In addition, we will have our own massage therapist, Tanja, working in the yurt to offer you massages, Reiki and individual sound healings at your convenience (this is at extra cost). We have a camp fire and hammocks and wood burning stoves. We are big foodies and we like to provide a thoughtfully prepared vegan / vegetarian menu.  (Our retreat food has been described as a taste sensation and is always raved about!).

Do as much or as little as you want  – it’s your retreat!

Itinerary

Day 1 – Meet for a hike 1000 hrs, 4-5 hours (further details will be confirmed nearer the time) (You must have a good level of fitness to be able to do this hike and appropriate clothing/ footwear). Bring your own packed lunch for this day. Return to bunk barn for tea and cake, Yin yoga to sooth any aching muscles and delicious evening dinner. Time to chill and and chat either in the dorms, living area, Quaker meeting house, spend some time round the magical forest campfire or get a massage with Tanja.

Day 2 – Cup of tea brought to you in bed by Sarah and Sarah! Smoothies, energy balls etc. available prior to Rise and Shine Yoga followed by a scrummy, cooked brunch.  Choose your own snack lunch.  2-3 hour led stand up Paddle Board session with a qualified teacher at Coniston Lake. We ask that you car share to get there. Return to barn for tea and cake, Hatha Yoga, Sound Bath, mouth-watering evening meal and chill time and perhaps a massage!

Day 3 – Cup of tea brought to you in bed by Sarah and Sarah! Smoothies, energy balls etc. available prior to Wild Swimming (if the weather is terrible we could do yoga instead).  Return to venue for our scrummy cooked brunch then pack up and leave. 

This is your retreat and you can choose how much or how little you want to do and who you want to spend time with. Feel free to do your own thing.

You will also get a free class  with Sarah at Yoga North either in studio or on zoom after the retreat.

Investment for 2024 £370

2 nights accommodation, meals, 3 (or maybe 4) yoga sessions, Guided hike, stand up paddleboard lesson and tuition and guided wild swimming. Massage at extra cost to be arranged with Tanja. Staying at Yealand Old School in the village of Yealand Conyers , it is the perfect base for our retreat where we offer morning and evening Yoga, guided walks, guided sit on top kayaking on Lake Windermere and amazing food! Also on offer will by reflexology and Reiki (at an additional cost), great company, or time out for yourselves. You can choose how much our how little you want to do, it’s your retreat and all activities are optional.

Yoga is suitable for all levels including beginners as is the Kayaking. Walking will require a decent level of fitness as we will aim to do a 4-5 hour walk. You will require proper footwear for this. A kit list will be provided. .

Day 1

Meet approx10am (time and coastal location to be confirmed) for 4-5 hour guided walk led by Sarah Booth and another walk leader. Bring packed lunch for this day only. All other meals provided. Return to the Old School approximately 4pm for tea and cake. 6pm Hatha or yin yoga to relieve any aching muscles and reflexology also on offer (additional cost) to sooth aching feet and address any wellbeing issues. Mouthwatering evening meal at approximately at 7pm.

Day 2

730 am Cup of tea brought to you in bed! Smoothies and fruit on offer prior to Rise and Shine Yoga at 830 am. 945am delicious, cooked brunch to set you up for the day. 1215 Grab light packed lunch to take with you for sit on top kayaking with a qualified instructor (half hour  drive – we car share). This will be a 2-man kayak so we will buddy up on the day within our group so we can provide support for each other and have fun chats along the way! We will journey over Windermere and experience some island hopping on the way!

Return to the Old School at approximately 4 pm for tea and cake. Hatha or Yin yoga at 6 pm followed by our amazing evening meal. Reflexology and Reiki on offer for additional cost.

Day 3

Cup of tea brought to you in bed. Yoga, self-managed woodland walk with your retreat staff and brunch (not necessarily in that order! TBC) . Pack up and leave for home.

Investment is £340 – £370 which includes 2 nights accommodation , all meals from Fri eve through to Sunday lunch, yoga, guided walks, guided kayaking. ( £340 5 bed room, £350 4 bed room, £370 twin).

Your Hosts

Sarah Blenkhorn runs Yoga North. She has been a yogi for over 20 years and is a senior teacher with over 17 years teaching experience. She loves being outdoors and likes to relax round a fire with friends and family.

Sarah Booth runs Retreat with me. She is an outdoor enthusiast who has been practising Yoga for over 20 years. Sarah is an experienced Hiker and has climbed peaks all around the world.

Together the two Sarah’s will make sure you have everything you need for your retreat. They provide a perfect mix of fun, laughter and activities and have been running very successful retreats together for the last 5 years.
